Women's Division 1

Our Division 1 Ladies are keen and ready to go for the 2019 season. Coming off their best season in 3 years, the team now has the belief to step up and take their game to the next level. Beating Bingera in the semi-final last year was a huge confidence boost to the team and with more than half the team still at school, the team is in a good place moving forward.

The team is able to welcome back one of their inspirational leaders in Sarah Bretag, who has been reunited with her former coach Paul Ash. Sarah will captain the team this year and really nurture our younger players and set high goals. With a good blend of youth and experience, the team has set the bar high this year and are looking to add some silverware to the cabinet.

Having a Wide Bay League is vital to the development of women’s football and without this pathway, the standard of football will not move forward. The goal for the year is to play attractive football and build a team around great values and desire. If we get these little things right then the season will come together and hopefully result in playing finals football.

It is time for our ladies to show Wide Bay that UPE are a competitive side leading the way in women’s football.

Our Division 1 Ladies team were also Grand Final Runners-up in 2018 and have a great mixture of youth and experienced players.
